Progress… and More Progress
June 14th, 2005 under About "The Dominance Flush", Chasing The Dream. [ Comments: none ]

It is a dreary day here on the hill… the cold temperatures and constant rain, coupled with the overcast sky and chilly wind have always proven to be an effective means of temporarily debilitating my creativity. I had planned to start my new book today, but for reasons I imagine are very obvious, I choose to focus on different things.

I am pleased to say that Reverend Ford of Saint Marys Catholic Church in Wells, Maine, has agreed to a private meeting with me. I have spent most of the day going through “The Dominance Flush” (for the umpteenth time) in order to make sure that the passages I have selected to discuss with Father Ford (and Father Colpitts of Saint Christophers Catholic Church) are complete… I have re-read the manuscript several times, and every time I find new elements that would make for good discussion with him. I look forward to our meeting, and am excited to finally be discussing the strong Catholic themes in the book with an actual, ordained priest. Book research, and a background in Catholicism are one thing… sharing my work with one of God’s servants is another. I can’t wait!

I’ll keep this one brief, as I am rather anxious to get back to reviewing The Flush… and I’ll admit that I plan to take a break from my unending work to finally watch a few episodes of The Sopranos fifth season. I’ve waited a long time for it to come out on DVD… but I will limit myself so as not to become distracted from the books… I’ve waited longer for my dreams to come true.

I will soon post another excerpt from “The Dominance Flush” for those who are interested…

About The Excerpts I Have Posted

READ THIS PRIOR TO VIEWING THE EXCERPTS THAT I HAVE POSTED BELOW

The two excerpts that I have posted (one for each book that Jeff and I focusing on for representation and publication) represent the two polar extremities of my work. It is important for anyone who is visiting this site to understand that if you are here as a result of my contacting you specifically about “The Dominance Flush,” I can assure you that you will find the excerpt for “The Bloodlines of Rollinsford” to be a completely different read, and potentially disturbing at that. Not all of my writing is as geared towared religious persons (or suitable for young age groups) as “The Dominance Flush” is. That said, read “The Bloodlines of Rollinsford” excerpt at your own risk.

Thank you,

“The Dominance Flush” Excerpt

The following is an excerpt from “The Dominance Flush”

This manuscript was written in the first-person perspective of a woman named Sheila Haventon… the following chapter takes place after Haventon (director of the Catholic Society of Modern-day Disciples — see synopsis for details) and an agent working beneath her have been investigating the phenomena in Cape Neddick, Maine for a number of days…

D’Anna led me up a large rock beside the garage apartment on the Inn premises, which gave access to the dense, evergreen forest of Pine Hill. We walked along a grassy game trail that ran through a large patch of briary Juniper bushes boasting berries that closely resembled blueberries, though shriveled in appearance and unsettling when digested. A Brief Synopsis of “The Dominance Flush”
June 9th, 2005 under About "The Dominance Flush". [ Comments: 1 ]

Sheila Haventon is the director of the east coast chapter of an agency in Concord, New Hampshire known as the Catholic Society of Modern-Day Disciples. She is a deeply religious woman, having sworn herself to serving the Lord early on in her life. For nearly a decade she has served the CSMDD as an overseer to several agents trained to seek out, and analyze various unexplainable phenomena in an attempt to prove that they are clues placed by God that pinpoint the circumstances of Christ’s eventual return. Under the leadership of a secret chapter of the Vatican in Rome, the CSMDD has investigated hundreds of anomalies all over the world during its decade in existence. Their crusade has been unfruitful for the most part . . . that is until now. Read more »
