This is raw footage that appears to have been recorded on a cell phone, but it is the closest I’ve come so far to finding actual footage of Saddam’s full execution. Watch the whole thing if you can take it… it does show his corpse. I doubt this will stay up on youtube.com for much longer.
The following footage contains images that might be disturbing to some people. Watch at your own risk.
[Update] This is what I found on cnn.com pertaining to the video I have posted above:
Cell-phone video
The official government video of the execution was released without sound and ends when the noose is put around Hussein’s neck.
But a crude cell-phone video leaked less than 24 hours later goes much further — showing bitter exchanges between Hussein and his Shiite guards.
After Hussein offers prayers, the guards shout praise for Muqtada al-Sadr, the radical Shiite cleric whose father is believed to have been murdered by Hussein’s regime.
They chant, “Muqtada! Muqtada! Muqtada!”
Hussein smiles.
“Is this how you show your bravery as men?” he asks.
“Straight to hell,” someone shouts back at him.
“Is this the bravery of Arabs?” Hussein asks.
A sole voice is heard trying to silence the taunts.
“Please, I am begging you not to,” the unknown man says. “The man is being executed.”
Another shout, “Long live Mohammed Baqir Sadr” — referring to Muqtada al-Sadr’s father-in-law and a founder of the Shiite Dawa movement who was executed by the Hussein regime. Dawa is al-Maliki’s party.
The taunts continued, and the trapdoor dropped shortly after 6 a.m. Saturday. Hussein was hanged.
These are frightening times we live in… I fear they will only get worse…
Since I just figured out how to embed youtube videos right to my blog (yes, I’m a bit slow with technology sometimes… so sexy), I thought I might treat you all to one of my favorite episodes of Aqua Teen Hunger Force. I’ll warn that this is not appropriate for kids.
Happy (almost) New Year!
P.S.– Now that I know how to do this don’t think that I will hesitate for a moment to put up a video of Saddam’s hanging once it finds its way to Youtube. I don’t support the war, but it will be nice to see that bastard’s head pop like a tick.
[Update] Saddam has been executed, as I’m sure everybody already knows. I’ll put the video up here as soon as I find it. It just has to exist somewhere!
For anyone who might be a fan of The Goonies, here is my “Completely Random and Pointless” post for the month of December (turn down your volume and just click on these links… I COMMAND IT!):
Just in time for Christmas, here are the Halloween pictures I’ve been looking for — and promising to post — since the beginning of November. Apparently, when I moved all of my pictures from one of my hard-drives to the other one a separate folder was created just for these particular shots. I don’t understand it, nor do I understand why my monitor goes a shade of hazy purple once in a while when I’m playing World of Warcraft, but I accept that this is my computer… and it hates me for some reason. Perhaps it’s a gypsy curse, or maybe it’s haunted. What if it’s haunted by a gypsy curse?! Dina! Save me! It’s turning! To different colors! Again! SENTENCE! FRAGMENTS!
I’ll now make with the pictures:
Cedric the Scubadiver. In the spirit of “Where’s Waldo,” I’ll ask this of the picture: Where’s Glenda?

D’Anna the pirate teams up with this cute little scuba boy to search for sunken treasure!

Okay… this one is going to mostly consist of photos since I have about 15 of them to put up here in all. I put up little captions above each one, but the pictures really tend to speak for themselves. This is the visual story of my little dog…
Glenda when she was just one week old!

Brothers and sisters… the whole litter.

The first day she moved into our house… already trying to escape off the back porch.

One of my favorites. This is Glenda stuck in the flower pots in Rangeley, Maine.

The two girls, Glenda and her sister Maya. I believe I was dangling food in front of them… I’m just evil like that.

The clean laundry is just more comfortable to sleep on. It makes sense…

My two babies passed out on the couch. There was another one of these, but Cedric’s hand had wandered south when he fell asleep. Not too appropriate for this site.

A cardboard container that once housed four Red Bulls had become the ‘tard’s helmet this day. She got herself into that situation… I’m still laughing about it.

Well, that pretty much catches us up to the present day. Glenda is a great dog, and I’m glad to finally be sharing her with everybody here on this site!
This is my beautiful baby, Glenda. She is a bit of a ‘tard, and we’re convinced that she has Doggie Down Syndrome, but she is loyal and she is ours! There is one problem that my son has tried to correct with her though; she tries to open our Christmas gifts when we leave her alone during the day. True story: I came home last weekend to find her nibbling on one of the kids’ presents. The little man told her to wait for Christmas, Glenda! This is what we’ve been telling him… so he knows how hard it is, but the time comes in a little man’s life when he has to put his dog in her place… and he did! Take that verbal bitch-slap, Glenda!

…hehehe. She’s a great dog though, joking aside. We love her alot!
I’ve wanted to show you all a picture of the newest edition to our family for quite some time. How appropriate that I get a chance to do it with her posing (yes, posing for my wife) in front of our Christmas tree.
I’m toying with the idea of posting all of her pictures from when she was little up until now on this site, but I don’t know if you guys would be interested. Comment here, or shoot me an email and let me know if you would like to see the “Story of Glenda.”
[Update] At the request of Dina and Tina (whose names would be so cute together if they were a lesbian couple), and a few emails I’ve recieved from fans, I plan to post the “Story of Glenda” next week. Be prepared to laugh at the pictures that will come in that post!
There are some things about my son, Cedric (the Skull Shirt post for example) that require posting here, and this is certainly one of them!
A few weeks ago my wife sent me an email at work, telling me all about how the little man had been on pbskids.org playing games all day. I didn’t think much of it until I actually saw him on this site, using the mouse all on his own! The thing that really grabbed me was how precise he was about clicking on things, and how he actually understood when to click-and-drag during these games!
My boy is so smart. He’s sitting beside me right now on his mother’s computer, playing games about Teletubbies and (I’m scared) the Boo Bahs. These games are so educational it’s crazy. The one he is doing right now allows him to augment different tones and what not in a song that the (I’m scared) Boo Bahs are dancing to. I couldn’t be more proud of my son!
I’ll leave you guys with one more picture of my little man in the zone…
One more thing: If you don’t know what I’m talking about when I mention the Boo Bahs, consider yourself lucky. I’ll not open my site up to some gypsy curse, or taint it in any other way by placing a Boo Bah link here.
I’m giving in. I’ve avoided posting much about World of Warcraft on this site for quite some time, but I cannot resist any longer.
I was introduced to World of Warcraft by a few buddies of mine (Mike and Tin Man!) from the Oarweed. Like crack dealers, they kept putting pressure on me to try this MMORPG game out. After one day I was hooked, and have been playing since October. Of course I work it in to be my way to “end the day.” I write… and if I am productive after each session… I play WoW. You have to discipline yourself with this particular game or else it will rule your life!
Play it if you don’t have an addictive personality, and you know what moderation means.
Below is the link to one of my favorite sites, youtube, that showcases the South Park episode that was centered around World of Warcraft…
South Park - WoW. This one has French subtitles… I thought that was funny considering what Cartman says in his big speech. Just watch.
If you are in need of any other WoW-ness, just click on the link to Vickie Drew’s blog (on the sidebar). She has a great video on her MySpace page that take place in the World of Warcraft.
That’s all I have for now. I finished working with Jeff Fitzgerald on a bit of the graphic novel today… now I’m off to play WoW!
