Oh yes… it’s real.

My brother Ryan just came back from New Orleans where he was celebrating his 21st birthday with my mother, sister, and grandparents (I wasn’t invited, but we’ll not open up that wound… hehehe). How interesting it must have been for them to walk the streets of what could arguably be called a vampire city?! Of course it is the setting for a great number of vampire stories that I can only marry to the word crap, but my problems with Anne Rice (and others) can wait for another post. The item that my brother brought back for me is probably the most thoughtful gift I have ever known him to give: a bottle of “Vampire Vineyards” brand merlot!

My brother knows that I love wines almost as much as I love vampires, so you can imagine how thrilled I was to learn that this wine was actually bottled in Transylvania, Romania! Thanks, Bro! I love you, man!

I will have you all know that I don’t plan to drink it until I see my work in print (or on the big screen)… this will be saved for a very special milestone in my writing “career.”

I might be wrong, but I think that most countries with favorable weather for growing grapes have some wine exports.

I agree that it is cool. I can’t wait to drink it… but that might be for a long time.
