Well, this site is on the cusp of it’s one year anniversary, and I felt it necessary to spruce things up a bit for this occasion. After two days of work that included a new photoshoot for the permanent pages here, I have finally finished updating things. I am very happy with the changes, and hope that those of you who visit the site regularly take the time to check them out. They can be found most prominently in the About Earl Yorke page. I plan to update the site with more soon, but now that I have more free time on my hands I plan to get back to work on the adaptation of “The Dominance Flush” to a screenplay. It also wouldn’t hurt to become immersed in “A New Kind of Low” for a while as well.
I really appreciate all of the support that I am getting from all of you! I’m looking forward to helping things move along alot faster as we enter the summer. I’m having lunch with Jeff tomorrow, so hopefully we will have come up with a new plan for pushing my work in the months to come. I know that I’m ready to get to work (and I don’t mean as a Loan Officer)!
Hope that everyone had a nice weekend!

Before I share the remainder of my flood damage pictures with you all, I just have to say that I’m glad I braved the storm and got these shots before it was over. I took a drive with my wife and son out to all of these locations once again today in an attempt to catch some re-construction, and was caught off guard by the newly appointed National Guardsmen who were standing sentinel over them. They wouldn’t let us get near anything! It’s a good thing for me that the government was so slow in reacting to what happened, otherwise I would have never gotten these pictures at all.
Here are the rest of the images I captured (ENJOY!):
My illegal trek beyond the police tape at the Cape Neddick Bridge!

A better shot of the bridge on Logging Road… or what’s left of it anyway…

A washed out bridge on Captain Thomas Road… if you look close enough you can actually see the post marking the Ogunquit border still hanging from the edge of it to the left!

Though this dog looks like he is pretty stupid, he was smart enough to hang out in this boat during the storms just in case the water rose too high. (This one is for you, Mom!)

What a crazy storm that was. Many of my friends and family believe that this is just the beginning of a whole barrage of harsh weather to come this summer. More thunderstorms than usual, and even the possibility of a hurricane or two actually hitting New England are just a couple of things that they expect. I recall hearing something about meteorologists backing up such theories, but I can’t recall where. Oh well, if any of you have heard anything be sure to comment below.
Hope everyone is doing well and staying dry!

Our Disney Vacation |

…I couldn’t resist leading off with this picture of my brother Ryan having a thrill-ride moment on the “Tomorrowland Transit Authority” ride in Disney’s Magic Kingdom. It’s a very, very tame ride, but my bro likes to add a bit of his hilarious sense of humor to nearly everything he does. Note his “mantastic” pit-stains.
I intended to follow up on my “Ah… Vacation” post a while ago, but because of all the changes going on at Arista I haven’t hardly had time to do anything! It has felt great to be posting alot over the last few days, and I fully intend to put alot up this weekend in order to get caught up on everything going on in my life. That said, I’m going to take a moment now to make an irregular post that has absolutely nothing to do with my writing, but rather gives you all an idea as to how our vacation went. It’s all pictures and captions from here… enjoy!
You can tell that the old lady in the background is truly having a “magical” Disney experience…

I can die happy, we totally met Rafiki and Timon!

It isn’t “vacation” without alcohol and lightsabers…

What’s Left of The Cape Neddick Bridge |

I remember when my bus route to elementary school went over this bridge. My step-children still ride over it on their way to school… atleast they did…

The bus routes in York have been altered because of this… obviously. It’s interesting that my step-daughter D’Anna travels over not only this bridge, but also the one in my previous post on her way to school every day! I can only imagine how long her bus-ride is now that the vehicle has to find a way around two collapsed bridges!!!
It’s a pity… I actually had a picture of a few idiotic high-school kids running across this bridge before it collapsed (I actually went beyond the police tape and snapped a few pics right at the edge of it). I am sad to say that this picture was deleted as I was clearing the XD card on my camera… I thought that I had downloaded it onto my computer. You can only imagine the deep sense of loss that I am feeling right now…
More pictures to come, including one that I took during my illegal walk to the edge of this bridge (I feel like such a rebel… really, I do)!

I’m sure that alot of you have either heard of, or lived through the unbelievable flooding that has hit New England. I’m excited to say that I live in the town that recorded the most inches of rain in all of Maine… no, I didn’t intend for that to rhyme, but I’m going to run with it. We recorded over 12 inches of rainfall… if this were snow it would have been over 120 inches!!!
The devastation here in Cape Neddick is unlike anything I have ever seen, and I’ve lived here my whole life! Here’s just one of the pictures I’ll be updating the site with over the next few days… I’ve gotten very creative with my new digital camera…

This bridge (or what’s left of it) is literally a five minute drive from my house. I’m glad that I live on a hill!!!

I don’t show off my son very often… atleast not on this website, but how often do you see a little boy in a shirt as cool as this:

Now that’s something I just can’t resist sharing with my fans!
