I’ve been working at the Oarweed restaurant in Ogunquit, Maine to make ends meet for a while. It is a seasonal restaurant (as are most around here), and though I will only be with them until the Fall, it helps for the time-being.
My reason for bringing up my new place of employment is that a certain celebrity worked there up until he got his big break. Kevin Eastman is known for being the creator of the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” and he worked at the Oarweed as well… small world, I suppose.
I’ve been doing a bit of hosting, in addition to preparing salads and desserts in the kitchen. It’s not where I would like to be right now (I wish I was a published writer!), but I give them all I have every day. I can honestly say that I like this job quite a bit… it’s a good break from the repetition that I faced at Circuit City, and it gives me an opportunity to work locally again. I can easily walk to work in ten minutes or less, and I get a weekly paycheck… I think I like that best of all!
Well… that’s enough for now. I could babble on a bit more, but I’ll spare those of you who actually read what I post here (plus, I have to get to work at 7:00 AM tommorrow)!
