A Graphic Novel? |

One of my many bosses at the Oarweed has suggested to me that I do a graphic novel. His name is Jeff Fitzgerald, and he is an excellent artist who expressed certain interest in doing such a thing with me.
I first thought about my wife, Dina, when faced with the idea of doing something that coupled my writing with the artwork of another person, but Jeff had himself in mind. I must say, after looking at the work he has done with the Oarweed logo (a lobster and fish in a Yin Yang symbol), and the fish and such on the children’s menu, I am interested.
If this goes anywhere I will make another post about it here.

Three To Eight… |

My mother — despite my constant making fun of her — sees a psychic atleast once every two years. Though I would like to believe in what they say, I honestly can’t place much stock in such things. There was one thing this psychic said to her about me though…
In three to eight days, weeks, or months the thing that I have worked very hard to achieve will come true. There is obviously only one thing that I have worked so hard for, and that is becoming a published writer. So, according to this man (who I know better than to trust, but find quite amusing nonetheless) in three to eight months, at the very latest, I will be published…
Here’s hoping…

My New Job |

I’ve been working at the Oarweed restaurant in Ogunquit, Maine to make ends meet for a while. It is a seasonal restaurant (as are most around here), and though I will only be with them until the Fall, it helps for the time-being.
My reason for bringing up my new place of employment is that a certain celebrity worked there up until he got his big break. Kevin Eastman is known for being the creator of the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” and he worked at the Oarweed as well… small world, I suppose.
I’ve been doing a bit of hosting, in addition to preparing salads and desserts in the kitchen. It’s not where I would like to be right now (I wish I was a published writer!), but I give them all I have every day. I can honestly say that I like this job quite a bit… it’s a good break from the repetition that I faced at Circuit City, and it gives me an opportunity to work locally again. I can easily walk to work in ten minutes or less, and I get a weekly paycheck… I think I like that best of all!
Well… that’s enough for now. I could babble on a bit more, but I’ll spare those of you who actually read what I post here (plus, I have to get to work at 7:00 AM tommorrow)!
(By the way… look for a post soon about what one of my bosses, Jeff Fitzgerald, proposed to me… about my writing.)

“Saved” |

I’ve been thinking about “The Dominance Flush” alot lately. There are a number of religious movies that Dina (my wife) and I have been watching, and I thought that I would talk about one of them that I find particularly funny here.
Anybody who has seen the movie “Saved” will agree that it is a hilarious portrayal of circumstances that surround a person losing, then regaining their faith. If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend it. I won’t ruin the plot for you, but I will leave a few quotes from the movie below…
- “Who’s down with G-O-D?!”
- “Anyway… it’s all about populating the planet, and good Christians don’t get jiggy with it until they’re married.”
- “You’re not born a gay… you’re born again!”
- “Prayer works, it’s been medically proven!”
- “I gotta go… we’re putting on a Christian haunted house. Happy Halloween!”
- “I am filled with Christ’s love!” (as she throws a bible at the main character)
- “I just crashed my van into Jesus!” “Well maybe we could fix him with some glue or something…”
- “Now that I’m thinking about it, what would Jesus do? I don’t know, but in the meantime I’ll be figuring it out.”

It’s Not a Matter of Love… |

It’s been over a month since I’ve posted anything on here… I can explain…
It is as the band 30 Seconds to Mars says, “It’s not a matter of love, it’s just a matter of time.” My loss of a telephone and internet is alot like Stephen King’s life was before he was published. I am broke. Through a number of different elements of B.S. I have found myself without the money to pay certain bills. I hate working grunt jobs, but I will do it for as long as it takes for me to get out there… and live my dream!
My partner through all of this, Jeff Greenfield, recently informed me that he has given his copy of “The Dominance Flush” to an agent whose name I will not write here yet. This agent specializes in screenplays, and Jeff is hoping that he will take interest in “The Flush” as a movie!!! My hopes are up a bit, but not to the point that they were years ago… when I envisioned myself to be invulnerable in my writing.
I’ll end it at that… my son is sitting beside me, and begging for my attention… I must obey… I love that little man… minime!
