The following is taken from the journal of Earl Yorke, January 3, 2003:
We’re doing laundry. It has taken us five loads (and $10.00) to do it all, but we are finally getting our clothes washed. The laundry room here in the apartment complex is filthy . I’m a bit creeped out by it, but in my world the things that creep me out are my outlets for creation… my books! He he he he! [good grief, I was so lame in those days… I can just see it now: “The Haunted Laundry Room”]
I wrote a few pages in “The Dominance Flush” today… JOY! I was beginning to worry that I would not be able to finish it. I’m now at the part where [I am obviously going to edit out the plot descriptions that I explain here… don’t want to spoil it for anyone who is interested in the book]… I think that the writer’s block that I have been experiencing as a result of the flow of rejection letters might be lifting. If I can atleast complete a few pages every day I think that I might overcome it completely.
Ryan [my brother] hasn’t visited in the last two days, which is rather upsetting. I understand that he has to return to school (vacation is over), and am not taking it personal. Still, considering that today is Friday, I hope to see him (his visits are a welcomed distraction from my writing issues, and I really enjoy talking about random nothingness with him).
Anyway, I’m going to get back to the “Flush” now. I have to finish it… I really think that it is going to be my best book yet!
